Back in 2010, when I first started as a waitress at the age of 20, I had a couple of quotes taped inside the little, black book that I carried around with me to write down my orders in. One of those quotes stuck with me throughout the years, and even though the little piece of paper became worn and bent WAY out of shape, I still held onto it and have it with me to this day.
It wasn't any amazing quote. In fact, it was just something I kept telling myself throughout that time period. Not a quote copied off the internet or from my favorite movie. Just one random thought that wouldn't leave.
Three simple words.
Never. Give. Up.
I went through a difficult period. I was pretty lost and unsure how to find myself and figure out the pieces of the puzzle life had handed me. Those three little words, written in this bright pink-colored pen, reminded me almost daily to keep on going. To never give up, no matter how badly I wanted to.
I made it through that rough patch and came out the other end 10x stronger and with a ton of blessings surrounding me. I still have that reminder taped up somewhere I can see it every single day - and now that I am back to waitressing after taking a year off to spend time with my baby, it inspires me now to keep on going and to never give up on what I want.
So, I just wanted to take a minute to tell you the same thing:
Never give up.
Never, ever, give up. Even when it hurts. Even when it gets really tough and lonely. Even when you are not sure what the HELL is going on or why certain things are happening the way that they are. Life won't always be like this - you gotta stick it through, stay focused on what you do know that you want, and keep on pressing towards it - no matter how bad you want to give in. And give up.
Refuse the temptation. There really is light at the end of the tunnel. Life has a ton in store for you - good things, I promise. Keep pressing towards it and never stop believing that there are amazing things up ahead. It will come. You just have to stay strong and keep believing.
And never, ever, give up.
